Showers of Joy!

I finally start blogging again and then I fall off the face of the earth. Oy! I guess you better get used to it, right?

I had my baby shower a few weeks ago at my sister's place. Check out my beautiful helpers in the photo. At least they distract from how puffy my face looks. Boo! Everyone who told me I looked great was LYING! It was a great time though. We kept it small with just family and really close friends. I loved seeing everyone and got some great loot, even if I hate being on display and opening gifts. Thanks, everyone!

We are starting a down and dirty upgrade of the baby's bathroom tomorrow. New floor tile, tub tile, vanity, mirror light and paint. I'll finally use the shower curtain and towels that I received as a wedding gift THREE YEARS AGO. Better late than never! However, that also means that I've been holding off washing the baby laundry and getting everything in the nursery completely put together. Why bother when it's going to be dust covered? The project should take just under a week, so hopefully I'll have the room together by next weekend when my friends come over and we do a last girls dinner before the little one arrives.

The clutter/mess drives me CRAZY, but I think I need to get over that - and quickly. Realistically, what do I think it's going to be like once the baby arrives? Toys, clothes and gear everywhere. Johanna told me it's just easier to give up and have a glass of wine or eat a cupcake when the time comes. Advice taken!
